Visitors

So within his first hour of life, Jackson met his brothers and both sets of grandparents. Awesome. Then the next weekend, he met Uncle Scott, Aunt Abbey, Lance and Madison. Then the next weekend, we were surprised with a visit from Aunt Chloe. We were so happy she was able to come out. The boys just love her. But we did miss Uncle Ryan, who had to work.
Chloe and Ryan had bought these shirts for the boys. Jackson's says "little brother".

My dad also got to return for a few days and my brother Jeff and his gf Marina drove down from Philly. It was a party! We went to Virginia Beach on Friday, and I was shocked by the crowds. I had only really ever been in the winter. But there was a volleyball tournament and the perfect weather, so it was great.

Austin is still loving all the baby gear:)

Jeff and Marina. Jeff was shocked that I had to get up in the middle of the night multiple times with him.

Austin's cord fell off at about 8 days, so he got to have a good bath. He didn't love it so much the first time, but by the second one, he was feeling good:) And we love this Tubby Todd bath soap. It smells like heaven!
We also enjoyed the pool at Jeff and Marina's hotel. The boys love swimming and Parker is a backfloat champ.

 Goober!
We had a delish final dinner at Baker's Crust. We loved every minute of our time with family. I'm so glad they could all meet Jackson so early in his life and can't wait until the next time we're together.

Up to two weeks... installment one

Some of this may seem like overkill to my average reader, but since this blog serves as my journal and I print them every year, I don't want to miss any special photos, even if it seems out of place.

So... here is a a pic of Pete with his dad and Kari about an hour after Jackson was born.
Since my dad had to leave after a few days, I was so glad my mom was still able to stay with us. She took the late night shift so I could get some sleep. Jackson was her buddy from 9pm til about 1am. Since she left on Monday, I am especially aware of how valuable her help was during those hours.

Parker loves his brother so much, and is constantly wanting to hold him and kiss him. He photo bombs nearly every photo!

Austin also loves baby Madison. When they came to visit, he was constantly confusing who's baby was who's...

 The three boys...
It's certainly been an adjustment with the baby and tending to his needs, while also paying attention to the other two. But I must say, I'm so glad they have each other to play with, while I'm feeding or rocking, or whatever. They are such good playmates.

One day, my mom and I got adventurous and took the boys to the park. It happened to be the hottest day of the week and it was soooo humid! But the boys did have fun getting out of the house and my mom ran the stairs at Mt. Trashmore. See her yellow top on the stairs?

 Soooo hot!

This is how Jackson spends most of his day... that's the life. He has even started stretching his sleep to about 4 hour chunks at night. Whoo hoo!

Brotherly advice

Two days before Jackson was born, I hear Parker giving Austin a brotherly pep talk about his upcoming arrival. Some pretty good advice in there...
They are sure to be the best big brothers ever!

Some more of life at home

Jackson's two-day old appt. He had lost almost a pound, but given his starting weight, they weren't too concerned:) That's the same weight Austin was at birth.

He is such a cuddle bug. I love how he burrows into my neck!

 Regression?
Teaching them young... but remember Jackson... "Don't eat the Legos."

Our traditional first outing as a family. Costco! He slept the whole time...
