Neon!

Parker went to VBS at his preschool's church last week. He loved it. And so did I. It was everyday for three hours. They did games, read Bible stories, played, and did crafts. So much fun. At the end they had a little performance and Parker got up there to sing with all 200 or so kids. My boys is growing up!
 Oh the love!
This is Parker's first picture that he drew that actually looks like something. It's me!

The Beach

Parker told Pete, "Daddy, I like it when you're not at work." It's true, Pete works a lot, but the boys love it so much when he's home. We all do. Last weekend was actually kind of relaxed and we spent a lot of time as a family.

In other news, Pete and I just started the Insanity workout program. It's just that... insane! So much jumping, that I'm just not used to. I hate working out but I love having something to do with Pete everyday:)

Smarty pants

Parker: "Mom, can I have that Chuck E. Cheese coin in your pocket?"
ME: "Parker, how'd you remember that was in there? I put it in there a few days ago."
Parker: "I'm always thinking."

Funny things...

Me: "Parker, I love Costco. Those churros are so good. I could eat a whole one by myself."
Parker: "Join the club."

Love how parker calls airplanes "Aero-planes." Parker is passionate about the fair. He went the other night with Papa, and met Ryan and Chloe there. Before he left, he kept talking about how he wanted to ride the airplane ride with Chloe. One of the first pics I showed his wish being granted. So cute.

That night he came home with two stuffed dolphins and a monkey inside a banana.

 The fair sure is exhausting!

The only bummer is that we don't have any pics of my dad with him. Next time!

My mom asked Parker if he wanted to spend the night, he responded, "No, I'm too old. Three is old."

Splash park

When Parker was Austin's age, he didn't like being splashed. He wasn't a big fan of the pool and really didn't like splash parks. Well, he's finally come around to enjoying both activities, and Austin is all about it. It's so fun. We met friends at a nearby splash park and the boys had a sopping blast!

Austin was a little concerned when he first got blasted, but then he came around. It probably didn't help I was snapping pictures instead of protecting him.

More from our weekend getaway

It's amazing how when you don't have kids screaming in the back seat, how pleasant road trips can be:) Initially, I wasn't pumped to spend almost 6 hours in the car each way, but it was so wonderful. Pete and I talked more than we've talked in months. We enjoyed the quiet and the scenery too. It was the perfect weekend.

The wedding venue just north of San Luis Obispo was rustic and gorgeous.
It also had random statues all over.
I just missed the photo op of all three of these guys mounted on the horse at once. Bummer.
Dana and Eric... such a cute couple.
Pete and Jeff Wilson... friends since middle school.
Pete, Eric, and Jeff. Eric and Jeff were both groomsmen in our wedding.
Posing... hahahahahah. Pete's going to tell me to take this off so enjoy while it lasts :)

 Lovely venue.
 Headed home, near Santa Barbara.

Father's Day

It was a great Father's Day today. We started the morning with our first Insanity workout (amazing results to come), and then spent the morning at church, followed by nap time for both boys. Then Pete opened his presents: a Michigan briefcase (to replace the one that was stolen), a work shirt, and a rock painted by Parker at preschool. Parker also sang a song for Pete. So sweet. Those boys sure are lucky to have such a fun dad. He wrestles with them no matter how exhausted he is from work, and he always doctors up their food so that it tastes the best, whereas I am about simple and not messy. Example, I will hand them a piece of plain bread, but Pete with add butter.

While the boys were sleeping  I made cornbread and chocolate sheet cake to take to my parent's house for dinner. Then the boys went swimming and it was especially fun since both my brothers were there. I love that Jeff has a San Diego project for the summer.

Dinner was amazing, with homemade taquitos. It was great to just be all together. Happy Father's day to Pete and my dad, who is the most devoted Papa ever!

Pics off the phone

Cell phone cameras sure have changed the frequency with which the average person takes pictures. It's so convenient, and you are able to capture daily life on a regular basis. Love it.

We celebrated Olin's one year old birthday!
Took the three kids (P, A, and Alexey) to Sea World again. So fun, but it's getting crowded there.
We bought Parker a big boy bed... he's been in a pack n' play up until this point. We have tried to promote the whole bed thing for many, many months, but Parker insists on sleeping in that tiny "crib". That is, unless he climbs into bed with us in the middle of the night. Anyway, we thought if we just bought it, that he'd come around to it. So we got cool dinosaur sheets and he picked out an Ironman pillow/doll to sleep with (he said it would scare the "bad guys away"). He also chose the quilt Pete's mom made for him before she passed away. So sweet. So mid-day once it was all set up, he practiced laying in it and all seemed to be going well. But once night hit, he tucked Ironman into the bed and then he hopped in his pack n play. I feel like I argue with Parker all day long, so I'm willing to wait him out on this one. At least it's there when he's ready.
I love how music is such a big part of our home. We sing and play instruments all day long. Happy times.

Texas visit pics

My Great Uncle Bob just sent me these pics from their visit to California. They quickly learned how difficult it was to capture a picture of my moving targets, but they ended up with quite a few where it wasn't just the back of their head:)

My Grandaddy and his brother, Bob.

 Gran and Gradaddy. Hook 'em!
My mom and dad. Cutest couple.
 Great Aunt Barbara with Parker.

 Singing his heart out.

Shark bait... some days I feel like sending him out to sea:)
 Awe...

Family... I can't believe we actually got a picture of us all together!
Chloe, Ryan, and their son, Stanley.
