Moving on

So we moved out of our apartment. We've been here a little less than 2 years and we've loved it. 1000 square feet of well-used space and an attached garage. We've loved the little patio and our sweet upstairs neighbor. It's been a happy place for us and we'll miss it. We've loved living close to Trader Joe's and walking to the park. We'll miss going to Jalapenos for burritos on football Saturdays. We'll miss being across the street from Chick-fil-A (too many food things?). Hopefully we'll find a great house with a yard in Virginia. I really want to give the boys that.

Moving out was way sadder than I anticipated. Seeing the place empty brought a flood of emotions. It was very nice having packers come and pack us up. Pete did a great job supervising. It was a long day. About 7 hours of packing and loading. And then I went back the next day for a few hours to clean and finish clearing out the pantry and fridge. Moving is such a pain, but it is nice to go through all your stuff and weed out. I didn't do a great job paring down, but at least things are a bit more organized.

Here's some of our prep... packing up for staying at Grammy's.

Love this view from our patio of all our favorite places... Chick-fil-A, In N Out, Costco, Nordstrom Rack, etc...

The boys in their empty room.

See ya later, Carmel Summit. Hopefully we'll be back to San Diego to buy a house soon! Parker and Austin were so cute saying goodbye to our apartment. Parker asked today if we'll ever go back to live there. It was a happy place for us. Here's to two more months in SD with my parents (thanks mom and dad for opening your home to us). We have lots of fun things to do before we leave.

  1. I just spent a long time catching up on your blog...I forget to check it now that it's private! I am sure you are having mixed emotions about everything that's going on, but I hope you have a great time with your parents before you move across the country with Pete! Love you all.
