So, I've learned my lesson. Our flood happened on Wednesday night, we had fans for three days. Friday we avoided being home all day, and we came home to find that the baseboards at been replaced and painted. We also came home to an unpleasant smell, but that went away by the next Saturday. We were supposed to have our padding replaced on Saturday, so we tried to be gone as long as possible, but nap time rolled around and no carpet people. I called the management and they said they'd be coming. I called again at 4:30pm and I talked to someone else who said they didn't have record of that being done today. As we have had our huge desk and other bedroom furniture in our living room for three days, and our house a mess... I was so depressed by this news. I said a prayer that something would improve about the situation, especially since now we would have to wait until Monday. But then lo and behold... we get a knock on the door at 6pm... the carpet guy! He said he only had enough padding to do half the job, but at least we could do the area where the desk was! So we were able to put back all the furniture, do some cleaning, and regain some normalcy. Prayer answered!
This morning, the carpet guy came back and finished the job, cleaned the carpet, and now, we're all set. I'm so thankful to be done with this mess.
In the meantime, Parker is a hoot...
