Parker's first Day

So we arrived in SD on Sunday. I registered Parker for school the next day and was surprised to find out we could get him into the neighborhood school (where I attended). We LOVE walking to school and I now know that is going to be one of our priorities for finding a house in the future. Love the fresh air, not hassling with traffic, etc...

So he was pumped for his first day of school. At this point, we still didn't know if we were going to be living here long-term or moving to Ventura. But of course two hours after he left for school we get word that we WILL be moving to Ventura. But given that it's still 6-8 weeks until we move, I am really like we took the leap to move here first to acclimate to the west coast and do a much shorter move when the time comes.

But before school started, we got in some swimming...

First day boys...

Papa and Parker.

Tierra Bonita Cheetahs! His teacher is Mrs. Stowe and he's in a K/1 class. I was concerned at first, but after meeting her, she is unbelievable and I'm so glad he's in her class for any length of time. I've never been more impressed with a teacher. She's on it! He made a cute friend named Pierce the first day and said, "He's one friend but worth four friends!" He plays soccer every morning with the big kids and holds his own. Love his spunk, determination, and fearlessness. He's a good listener, hard worker, and a sweet friend.
