Filling Daddy's shoes

The boys love their Dad so much. They ask for him to come home all day long. They love wrestling with him at the end of the day. They love the smoothies he makes. They love the treats he sneaks them. They love his funny voices when he reads book. They love his dancing. They love to hug and kiss him on his way to work. They love to sing with him. They just love him. 

For a little while, the boys will have to fill daddy's shoes... 

Good thing they are here to keep things running smoothly. I couldn't do it without him.

Going private

With Pete changing jobs and things changing around here, I thought it would be best to make the blog private again. It's annoying, but I think the best choice for us at this time. Mother's Day came early

When Pete took the boys out shopping for Mother's Day and then they came home to reveal they simply could not wait to celebrate... who was I to argue?

 They had a gold theme for their gifts. Gold/yellow flowers, a gold necklace, and a gold bracelet. It was very sweet and I wore all the accessories on Sunday. I love these boys who made me a mama. It's what I always dreamed of.

On Sunday night we had the perfect evening playing a family soccer game. We love meeting our cousins at the park, but on this night it was extra special when everyone started playing together. Parker had never really played a game of soccer before, and we were impressed by his skill and competitiveness.

Disneyland... all of us!

We were so excited to finally get to go to Disneyland with Pete, as only the boys and I have annual passes. He took a day off and up we went. As we neared closer to the park, the wind was unbelievable. I was running over tumble weeds and my hair was flying around wildly. It was hilarious, until we got inside the park and noticed most of the rides we wanted to go on were closed either for renovations or because of the high winds. That made all the other lines super long, and at their ages, there are only certain rides they even want to/can go on. Lame. So after an hour of trying to find a doable ride, I went to stand in the VERY long guest services line to try and get our ticket switched to CA Adventure. Apparently many others also had the same request. Let's just say the vibe was not the traditional "happiest place on earth" one. 

But at least we got our token Disneyland picture. 

 Then we headed to CA Adventure, which was fun, but really crowded and hot. We stood in line for Towing Mater, which normally moves along very quickly, for over 40 minutes. But the boys love that one. We also rode the carousel, but the rest of the lines were too long. We did see the Disney Jr Show. By 2:00pm, we were done. Bummer man. Oh well, at least there's photo documentation that we did it.

 Then we headed over to my grandparents where my grandma is recovering from surgery and my aunt and her husband are out from Nebraska helping out. It was great to see everyone and we had a very nice dinner.

 Grandaddy insisted on pushing Austin around in the Cozy Coupe, even in the heat.

I see this 75% of my day, whining for me to give him more food. He has insatiable hunger!

 He's such a character. He was playing baseball in the yard, and he said to me, "Mama, watch and learn."

It's like a different world

Growing up in California, you get accustomed to certain stores, restaurants, etc... Having lived in Utah and Michigan, we miss some of our normal places, but then also learned about some new places that became our favorites. Pete did a little investigating about Virginia stores. Here's his overview:

Most Locations in Virginia: Kmart (Kmart is a "department store"?!?!  I thought every Kmart was closed except that one in Provo!)

Athletic Stores:

Most Locations in Virginia:Footlocker (Great, a store we never shop at is popular in Virginia!)

In other news, the boys are still cute as ever...
